Having trouble learning NewsPro?

Some tips:

• Drag the 'from' column (or any column) to the group by box to quickly group like posts together. You can do this with any columns in any order which allows for a lot of flexibility in managing your downloads.
• Click any column header to sort by that column. Click again to reverse the sort. This works well after grouping to get things in post order (file 1, then 2, etc)

Tools menu explanations

• Set file path - Sets the path to the 'SavedAttachments.txt' file so you don't have to navigate to it every time. This setting is saved in the registry so it persists between sessions.
• Manage ignore directories - Brings up a window to add directories to ignore. Any files that live in a directory listed here will not be shown in the grid (See 'Include ignored directories')
• Restore default grid layout - This will restore the grid to is original display state
• Alternate row color - Allows you to choose the color of the alternate rows in the grid to best match your tastes
• Include ignored directories - This option will make NPDL Manager include any files in your ignored directories. Useful if you just want to see what's in your download file
• Ignore non-existent files - Only loads files that exist where NewsPro thinks they are. In other words, if you have a file with 50 things in it and move 20 of them, the next time you start the program you will only see 30 things listed since you moved 20 of them last time. I recommend ALWAYS using this option.
• Clear from list after move/delete - Removes the files from the contents grid once you either move or delete them. I recommend always using this as well since it will let you know when you are done processing files (the grid will be empty)
• Rename download file after exit - This will rename the 'SavedAttachments.txt' file when you exit. The file will be saved under your NPDL Manager directory in a directory called 'archive'

Help menu explanations

• Contents - Launch browser to NPDL Manager homepage
• Check for update - Checks server for a newer version of NPDL Manager
• About - Shows NPDL Manager version and contact info

Grid context (right click) explanations

• Move files to... - Moves selected files from their current location to the location you specify
• Remove from list - Only removes the file from the grid for the current session. The physical file is left untouched
• Delete files - Permanently deletes the physical file from your hard drive. USE WITH CAUTION
• View/open - Opens selected file in registered viewer Export to Excel - Exports grid contents in to Excel file
